I am a member of 'Moehau Community' (NZ) established early '70s
An international community of diverse folk who jointly own and run an 1100 acre farm in Port Charles,Coromandel and community house in Ponsonby ,Auckland. Formed in the early seventies by a bunch of artists, students, hippies, apprentices, tradesmen, entertainers, musicians etc.,this diverse group of somewhat unique characters have managed to still retain the core group of members and actually are thriving through their diversity.
The farm is of organic nature and runs a small amount of stock and offers a 'farm-stay' service combined with whoofer opportunities and also a rustic'NZ Bach' is available for hire.
Workshops on various aspects of the arts, crafts, metal casting, healing arts, performing arts, ecology ,audio recording, have been and continue to run here . A clown workshop is planned for feb 07 run by Alan Clay.
